Snow in South Georgia!

"Snow provokes responses that reach right back to childhood."- Andy Goldsworthy

Off we go...traveling in time...it is exactly eight days ago...January 21st, 2010...approximately 71 degrees outside...and guess what?

I BUILT A SNOWMAN!

That's right. I built a snowman! With real snow! In South Georgia! I'm pretty sure this should earn me some sort of special award or prize, because not only was I the only individual in Cairo, Georgia to build a snowman on January 21st, 2010...I was probably the only person in the ENTIRE Southern United States to build a snowman!

I know, I know...you're wondering how I might have accomplished this feat. No, I'm not magic (contrary to popular belief). The truth of the matter is, I work at a fertilizer company and we get a huge load of peat moss in giant, scary skyscraper bales every Thursday. These giants come all the way from Canada where its SUPER COLD. In fact, it is SO cold in Canada that these bales travel all the way here and when they FINALLY get here and are unloaded in the meager town of Cairo they still have REAL CANADA SNOW on the tops!

Yes, that's real snow I have in my hand!

So, of course, I felt it only necessary to build the world's tiniest snowman at the front door of our establishment!

Isn't he adorable? Those are pine bark eyes and a mouth that you see there! Very fancy! I was so proud. He looks quite regal, I think.

So anyway- the moral of the story is...I'm amazing, and I built the only snowman in the southern United States on January 21st, 2010!

...I think :)
